«Manchester, UK Gig. 7th December 2000.

7th December 2000 - Green Days first UK tour in a few years was just starting. This is quite possibly one of the greatest nights of my life - Green Day, the best band ever was playing, and i was there to witness it. I all kicked off at around 7.30 when the support act, the Bouncing Souls came on. Their opener was "Here We Go!" and they was a really great band. They was on for around half an hour or so. Then the moment we had all been waiting for came. 19,000 people packed inside the MEN arena to see the same thing, GREEN DAY! They came on roughly at around 8.10. All we could see in the pit was Tre on his drums saluting the fans, and then NICE GUYS FINISH LAST kicked into action. That was nothing short of amasing, and what followed was just as good! The next song they played was CASTAWAY which was excellent, as was BLOOD SEX AND BOOZE! Then for the next couple of songs it was all classics of Insomniac, Dookie, 1039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours and Nimrod. GEEK STINK BREATH was the next in line to be blasted out, and then LONGVIEW which was sung along to excellently. Not surprisingly the next song was an excellent WELCOME TO PARADISE and then into a 5minute long HITCHIN A RIDE, then BRAINSTEW and then JADED then we was introduced to "Slipknot" which got laughs from the crowd. Then we went into a song wrote by OPERATION IVY, of course, its KNOWLEDGE. And half way though it tey got this 15 year old lad from all of places, CHORLEY up, and thats where i am from, so he got a bigger cheer from me! Then after he stage dived it went straight into BASKET CASE which was riotous, then straight into SHE. Then "Slipknot" came back onto the stage to help BJ and co. play KING FOR A DAY. If you haven't guested by now, "Slipknot" are the bass section of Green Day. Green Day had a forth member playing that night, helping BJ out on guitar, he was called JASON WHITE and he is from BJ's side project - Pinhead Gunpowder. He seemed cool. Then FOD was played next to the delight of the crowd and then a pacier version of MINORITY which in fact, you can mosh to. Then, one of numberous encores took placea, and the first song of the first encore was a BJ solo of GOOD RIDDANCE (Time Of Your Life) and then WARNING and then they cleared of again, only to come back to play PLATYPUS (I HATE YOU) via the aid of Mr White on guitar. Then WAITING was next then WHEN I COME AROUND with a massive ovation and then, after Tre had wrecked his drum kit, MACY'S DAY PARADE.

All in all, it wa an excellent night, the wave, the licking of fingers, basically, how the band played and interacted with the fans was superb, and i would really love to see them again. They are the best band around, best live band around, best whatever around, they are 3 living Gods!
